Some notes about stone monuments current methods of cleaning

This paper is dedicated to cleaning of stone monuments. Both technical and aesthetic point of view of the cleaning process are concerned and also the historic development in the conservation approach including various starting points, objectives and the social influence. The paper moreover describes recent procedures in monuments cleaning. It contains also an overview of the postulates of compatible conservation intervention (cleaning) and focuses on important issues that need to be responsibly solved.
